Dark and seductive meets dance and glitter. Nocturnal, the brand new EP from Victoria, BC based alt-pop/rock band Isobel Trigger, is now available on iTunes. Recently signed to Cordova Bay Records, Nocturnal is the bandís first label release, which features five original tracks that exude the bandís synth-driven style paired with exotic vocals and heart-thumping grooves.

Composed of Felicia Harding (vocals/synth), Brett Faulkner (lead guitar), Kyle Lowther (bass), and Ariel Tseng (drums), Nocturnal saw all four members collaborate together for the first time. A truly unique sound, Isobel, represents the soft feminine quality of their music while Trigger stands for the masculine and heavy rock component; it can be described as delicate innocence meets howling distortion. Encompassing an overall darker sound that conjures images of nightlife, the city and the celestial landscapes, Nocturnal conveys the bandís dynamic sound perfectly.

Inspired by the moment of hearing a song for first time, the bandís first single "Dust and Bones" focuses on the impact of a song and the powerful feelings that erupt when the song is relived. Following the release of the single, Isobel Trigger launched the highly anticipated video drawing fans in with the use of vivid CGI landscapes and an enticing plot. Produced by Adam Sutherland (Acres of Lions) the EPís second single, "Tiger Shark" plays off of the idea that all great things in life come with an element of risk; sharks are always lurking in the shadows with the potential to leave scars on your life, but the rewards are worth it. Working with two separate producers the band also enlisted help from Ryan Worsley (Dear Rouge) to produce the tracks "Sugar Cube," "Champion" and "Carry On."

In an effort to connect with more artists on a musical level, Isobel Trigger launched an exciting new initiative; inviting DJís to remix their track "Dust and Bones." The winning remix was awarded to ROUGH CHILD, which was instantly added to the bandís YouTube page. With the immense success from the first competition, Isobel Trigger launched a second remix contest and has invited DJís to send in their remix of the bandís second single "Tiger Shark." The band has received a multitude of submissions from all over the word (UK, Germany, Spain and the US) and will soon choose a winner. You can view all submissions on the Isobel Trigger Soundcloud page.

To select a winner Isobel Trigger has created a list of the Top 10 remixes, as selected by the band, and is inviting fans to provide their feedback on which remix is their favourite. The Top 10 list will be available via a playlist on the Isobel Trigger Facebook page and website and the winning remix will be posted to the bandís YouTube channel in the coming weeks.

Finding immense success in 2014 Isobel Trigger was awarded Band of the Month by The Zone 91.3 Modern Rock in Victoria and was recognized as Monday Magazineís Runner Up Rock Group. Another notable highlight for the band this year was performing in the esteemed Rock The Royal, a showcase of Victoriaís top talent. This summer they also had the opportunity to rock out at Tall Tree Music Festival and headlined the Smithers Midsummer Music Festival. Throughout their career theyíve shared the stage with The Pack AD, Alex Cuba, Kuba Oms, Hunter Valentine, and Shane Phillips.

With an exciting fall ahead of them the band will perform a handful of shows in and around their hometown of Victoria, BC including the acclaimed Rifflandia music festival. On September 18th Isobel Trigger will kick off their Western Canada fall tour alongside Edmonton based alt-rock band REND and will perform at the Media Club in Vancouver, BC.
